Kiernan Moran

About

Kiernan Moran is an experienced trial lawyer passionate about using technology to make complex legal systems more accessible and just.

Previously, Kiernan served as a public defender with the Colorado State Public Defender, where he represented hundreds of clients through every stage of litigation and trial. He brings a diverse legal background, with experience in criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation.

Kiernan is also a contributing author to Equalizing Justice: Harnessing AI for Litigants Without Lawyers (Cambridge University Press, forthcoming), a book exploring how artificial intelligence can improve access to justice. Kiernan's proudest achievement is teaching high school students civil rights and mock trial skills through Georgetown's famous Street Law Program while in law school.

He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2020 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from the University of Arizona, where he studied Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law, and is licensed to practice in Colorado and Arizona.

Outside of work, Kiernan enjoys reading Russian literature, philosophy, and training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
